An update concerning a meeting hall for the church in Minneapolis
October 25, 2026
Background
Minneapolis is a strategic city in the Lord’s move. The metro area has over 3.7 million people, making it the largest metro area between Chicago and Seattle. Minneapolis is a financial hub with a diverse economy.
The saints began meeting as the church in Minneapolis in 1973. In 2020 Minneapolis was designated as a GTCA target city. Eventually about 35 saints migrated to strengthen the testimony here. In addition, a team of full-time serving ones was established to labor on the University of Minnesota, a campus with over 50,000 students. Over the past six years, we have attracted many local students for the Lord’s recovery.
The Property
Until now, the church has never had a meeting hall, a period of over 50 years. The church currently meets in a community center with one additional room for the children. The space is no longer adequate for our needs. Owning our own building will accommodate our growing needs and will give us legitimacy in the eyes of seekers in our area.
It has been difficult to find a suitable building, but one recently came onto the market. After much prayer and fellowship with the local saints and with other brothers in the area, we felt clear to pursue the purchase of this property. We have reached an agreement with the seller to purchase the property for $2.35 million.
Some positive aspects of the property are:
- 12,000+ square feet all on one level, so no requirement for an elevator
- Safe and convenient location near three major highways
- Little to no need for renovation
- 40+ parking spots, and overflow parking can be arranged nearby
- ADA-approved bathrooms meeting church assembly requirements
- Fire sprinkler systems already installed

Financial Need
For the purchase, locally we have cash and pledges for just over $1 million. This leaves us around $1.4 million short of the needed funds, including fees we will need for closing. The church already supports a team of 6 full-timers and an additional two in FTTA, so it would be difficult for us to maintain a large mortgage.
Practically, we will sign the purchase agreement on October 27, then have a 60 day period for due diligence and to take care of finance, with an additional 30 day period available for financing. We should close on the property in late December.
